A conversation with the Pagemaster: Rest In the Person of the Holy Spirit

Rest In the Person of the Holy Spirit
Adams Allison

Pagemaster: Let us continue on the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is also a command to be continually filled, not a once for all experience (See Ephesians 5:18)

This is where we distinguish between just being filled with the Spirit and being full of the Spirit.

You are a temple of the Holy Spirit to offer up gifts and sacrifices. You are not a bedroom to the Holy Spirit, He did not come to fill your body so He can rest.

No!

He came to fill your body so that He can work through you while you rest.
May you enter into rest because of the Presence and the Person of the Holy Spirit in your life. Amen!

Student: I don’t understand this statement, sir – “He came to fill your body so that He can work through you while you rest”.

Pagemaster: The statement simply means that this scripture becomes your reality:
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
Ephesians 3:20 NKJV

The Power that works in us is the Holy Spirit.
When He works, we enter into rest as it is written;
Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:11 NKJV

I hope this answers your question @⁨Student

⁨Student: Not really.

Pagemaster: Maybe you want to rephrase your question so that I can answer it better.

⁨Student: He is working through us, therefore how are we resting?

Pagemaster: Okay. I get you.

Look at it this way, a drainage pipe on a rooftop that let’s water out…
If it is blocked and water cannot flow through, we say “it is not working”, right?

⁨Student: Yes!

Pagemaster: So, if it gets freed up and starts allowing water to flow, we say “it is working”, right?

Student: Yes, that is correct.

Pagemaster: Now, although “it is working”, is it expending energy?

Is the pipe expending any form of energy in order to make the water flow through it?

Student: No.

Pagemaster: Thank you. That is what rest means.
Rest means to work, but not with your energy.
That is, without human effort.

Grace, rest, faith, all are dimensions of work in the kingdom which is without human effort.

NOTE: The work (in the kingdom) is singular, it is the dimensions that is tripatite – Grace is God extending His hand to you, Faith is you receiving and accepting His hand, Rest is the resultant effect.

The error ravaging the church today is based on the failure to understand this kind of “work”

Student 1: Hmmmm
Student 2: Very true sir

Pagemaster: Law or legalism is work based on human effort.

Grace is still work, but this time, it is based on divine effort (or enablement).

Halleluyah somebody! Isn’t Jesus great?

Student 1: Hallelujah!!!! Jesus is Great.
Student 2: Very great.
