End Time Myth Part 1

The idea that it is the end times and as such things will not get better is a growing belief system that is halting progress in people’s minds and killing their will to move civilization forward. Funny thing is, proponents don’t know the origin of this mindset. They think this belief system originates from the Bible, but really, it doesn’t. It is the figment of a religious mindset.

Let’s talk scripture and facts. In the words of apostle Paul let’s discuss “the word of truth and reason” (Acts 26:25).

Why did Paul send Titus to the city of Crete? Was it just only to win souls and plant a church? No! It was ALSO to make the city a better place.

“For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every CITY as I commanded you—
Titus 1:5 NKJV

The apostles did not leave or abandon the responsibility of caring for a city to the government. They could have said, “we handle the faith and salvation of the people, while the politicians handle the governance of the people”. One of the responsibilities of good governance is order and Titus was charged with that responsibility by an apostle.

That same apostle gave this charge and instruction to the church;

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
I Timothy 2:1‭-‬4‭, ‬8 NKJV

Pay attention to that instruction:
Pray for kings and those in authority! Do you know what king was in power that time? It was Nero, the mad king who burnt Rome and blamed the church. He ended up killing a lot of believers and Jews for arson that he himself committed. This same king, Paul says to pray for. Our leaders are not even that bad and people are already saying things will not get better because of “Bible prophecy”? No, that is not the product of God’s word, but a product of despair.
Some may object and say, ‘he did not say what type of prayer we should pray’, that’s not true. If you combine vs 2 and 8 together, you’ll see that the prayer type was specified; a prayer without wrath…

If the world is not meant to get better then why ask to pray for these types of leaders for the sole purpose of “leading a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”

The word of God says,
“Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for your possession.”
Psalms 2:8 NKJV

Will you ask for the nations and still allow it degenerate?
Our mandate is to disciple nations and baptize them, but we mistake this as an envagelical call to win souls and baptize them.
Joseph and Moses are a type and shadow of what it means to disciple and baptize nations.

Joseph shows us how to disciple a nation as he teaches their senators wisdom.

“He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him. The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. He made him Lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance: To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.”
Psalms 105:17‭-‬22 KJV

Moses on the other hand shows us what it means to baptize a nation.

Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,
I Corinthians 10:1‭-‬2 NKJV

To baptize a nation is to emancipate a nation from slavery and bondage into her prophetic destiny. You cannot do this without drafting policies and principles of governance of a people which is what Moses focused on in the book of Deuteronomy.

We have looked at scripture, now let’s look at world facts that show the potential for the world to get better.

Here are some facts about the world getting better. Let’s start from India, former poverty capital of the world. In spite of widespread paganism, India is getting better:

“NEW DELHI: In the time that it takes you to read this article, several Indians will have escaped the clutches of extreme poverty. In fact, about 44 Indians come out of extreme poverty every minute, one of the fastest rates of poverty reduction in the world. As a result, India has finally shed the dubious distinction of being home to the largest number of poor, with Nigeria taking that unwanted position in May 2018.”

“Lee Kuan Yew, the founding father of one of Asia’s smallest but most developed economies, has died. Lee led Singapore after its separation from Malaysia to emerge as one of the world’s most powerful financial centres.
The tiny nation, whose main industry was manufacturing at independence, saw its GDP per capita skyrocket under Lee to one of the highest in the world in 2013, behind just oil-rich Qatar and private banking centre Luxembourg, according to the IMF. Its population has doubled to more than 5m.
Singapore flourished on the inherited advantages and foresightedness of Lee to transform into the ranks of New York, London and Switzerland as a global financial hub. As a key port in the British Empire, Singapore was in a strong position for trading activity. Lee built on this, as the country had no natural resources of its own to exploit.
Even though Lee was criticised by many for leading the country in an authoritarian style that stifled political dissent and press freedoms, his firm grip on power and maintenance of stability gave little scope for corrupt financial practices. The orderliness that Singapore became known for was attractive to foreign investment – billions of dollars poured in, ensuring the country’s success”.

Nations are rising just as others are decaying. The fact that Slavery and the Holocaust happened on this planet does not mean that growth and development and freedom does not still happen on this same planet and sometimes to the same people and places that evil once befell.

Israel also suffered slavery for 400 years under Egypt. Did it mean the end of their world? Did it mean things won’t or didn’t get better? Cause things for better for Israel.

Israel also suffered a Holocaust under the Roman empire, did it spell their end? Did things not get better?

Maybe you think this is different because it is Israel that it happened to so things just had to get better.

What about Japan? America’s retaliation against them for the Pearl Harbor bombings was with an with atomic bombs that left generations devastated and deformed. I mean generations after, children where still being born deformed as a result of the effects of the atomic bomb.

Japan was a developed country before Hiroshima. Before World War 2.
Japan was a large, functional industrial economy before World War 2.
The destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a small part of the damage done to Japan during WW2. Those were just two of forty Japanese cities that were completely destroyed. There were over thirty more cities that were severely damaged. The entire population of Japan was suffering from several years of malnutrition.
After the war, the Japanese people did an unbelievable amount of hard work to re-build their country. They were given extensive support by the United States.
As Robert Mashburn points out, the Japanese industrialists had the foresight to follow American quality expert Edward Deming, leading to a reputation for quality products that further boosted their economy and helped them take a major share of the world market for cars.

Look at them today. They are;
Number 9 on the list of median total wealth per adult by country over $10, 000 in 2017 (credit Suisse).
Number 3 on the list if countries with the most global 500 companies in the world n 2018 (fortune global 500).
Number 3 on the list of countries with individuals worth over $50million 2017 (wealthreport)
Number 4 on the list of countries with the best infrastructure in the world 2018 (WEF).

There are so many accounts of countries and people who went from bad to great. The key is for people of goodwill to rise to the challenge and take responsibility for the greatness and betterment of their nations.

If we continue to think that things won’t get better, then we would be part of the decay of the planet. And whether or not we contribute to the betterment of the nations of the world, there will always be a remnant who will commit to it.

Let us arise to our calling as salt and light of the world and make it a better place. If the world is falling apart and we think it is biblical, then we don’t know who we have believed. It’s a slap on the face to be salt of the earth and yet it is decaying, it is a shame for the world to be in darkness and yet we are the light of the world.
