I am sure you are wondering where I am going with this. Well, here it is. A friend sent me a link to a ‘once saved, forever saved’ post seeking my thoughts on the it.

The summary of the post is this;
He explains away Matthew 24:13 which says, “But he who endures to the end shall be saved” by giving two points.
- First he says that If we need to endure to be saved then the thief on the cross who asked Christ to remember him in His kingdom would have been rejected because he had endured nothing for Christ.
- Secondly, he claims that the verse speaks of the second coming and not the rapture. So, it is those who were left behind that need to endure in order to be saved.
When I read that, I commented by saying this;
This is totally ignorant and out of context. The purpose of ‘endurance’ is ‘finishing’ not duration. The fact that someone endures a marathon does not mean that he who runs a sprint didn’t endure especially when he has run it from start to finish. As long as he who runs a sprint finished his race he too has endured, it doesn’t matter the distance. The same thing goes for the thief on the cross, his race in Christ might have been only for a moment but it was completed. That’s what counts. God cannot force someone into salvation who backs down half way through even if the person has run a thousand miles and all that’s left to cross the finish line is but one more step…
As for his assertion on the distinction between rapture and the second coming, I also told him this;
It’s unfortunate that your eschatology is still archaic and erroneous. There is no substantial difference between the rapture and the second coming of Jesus Christ. In fact, both are the same.
Sadly, I cannot begin to school you on that because you guys have already decided to believe this cancerous teaching of pseudo-grace.
To my surprise, the guy deleted my comment.
My brother, Wikiman, also commented by sharing a simple scripture from Revelation (without a single commentary of his own) which says:
“4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.”
Revelation 2:4-5 NKJV
He deleted that too.
I couldn’t wrap my head around it. What could a “pastor” possibly have against the scripture? Should Wikiman have quoted from books other than the Bible?
And before I could post another comment, he had blocked me.
This is my question to this so-called pastor and others like him;
If your conscience is pure and your intentions noble, why do you delete comments that punch holes in your fables, why do you delete scriptures that don’t support your wishful doctrines? Are you so afraid of the Truth that you are willing to embrace a lie?
The scripture is right when it says of such men that they love darkness because their works are evil. They know their doctrines are cancerous so they shut out anyone who speaks the Truth.
Like I said before, I dare say again, if you fear what the opposition has to say then it is not the Truth you have believed but a lie… and you know it.
