The Man Child (Part I)

We continue to explore the prophetic message revealed in the Woman and her offspring from our last two posts.

If you have read the previous articles, then the identity of the Woman is quite clear by now – she is any generation of God’s people that is pregnant with a ‘Man Child’. When such a generation faces tribulation which the scriptures call ‘birth pangs’ – Mark 13:8 – then it is time to bring forth the Man Child. But only a generation who knows the worth and significance of the Man Child will be willing to endure such tribulation.

So today, our focus is the ‘Man Child’! We want to know if he is worth the trouble.

What does the Man Child represent? Is he going to be another man like Moses? Or is the Man Child another generation distinct from the Woman?

Well, for starters, the ‘Man Child’ is a movement and not an individual. Not only is the ‘Man Child’ not an individual ‘he’ is neither a separate generation from the Woman, ‘he’ is simply a more advanced phase of life in the ministry of the Woman. The ‘Man Child’ is in effect, a greater move of the Spirit that evolves from the dealings of God in the generation of the Woman.

Several generations have come and gone since the birth of the last Man Child – Jesus – but none has been able to bring forth a Man Child ever since. Why? It’s for the same reason little girls cannot bear children let alone give birth to one, that the forgoing generations have failed to bring forth a Man Child. No generation has ever developed the features of the Woman, as such, none were able to bring forth a Man Child in spite of their many travails. To bear or bring forth a ‘Man Child’, a generation must have every single feature of the Woman in place – the sun upon her, the moon under her feet and the crown of 12 stars on her head. (More on these features in subsequent posts). Without these features, there will be no Man Child. And no matter the trials and tribulations they face, there will be no birth pangs, only the Refiner’s fire.

Unlike previous generations that fell short, I believe this generation qualifies as the Woman seeing as she bears all the features of the Woman to the very last detail. And with all these travails of tribulation that this generation faces, it is evident that these are birth pangs heralding the coming of the Man Child.

What are the characteristics of this Movement called the Man Child?

There are three major characteristics of the Man Child revealed here, but for the sake of time and space I will be discussing only one today. I would share the remaining two characteristics in next week’s post.

OneRevelation 12:5 – He is to rule the nations with a rod of iron.

The rod of iron is an obvious allusion to the rod of Moses. This rod was a symbol of Power, for by it Moses wrought all manner of signs and wonders! (See Exodus 4:17, 21) However, the rod of the Man Child is called an iron rod to indicate that a greater and more powerful manifestation of power than what Moses experienced is to be expected.

The Man Child is a move of God that will pioneer an unprecedented release of God’s power on the earth. It would be a time of undeniable signs, wonders and miracles that far exceed anything ever seen before, beyond the miracles of Moses and even greater than what the Lord Jesus did while here on earth. He Himself said that ‘he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do’. (John 14:12)

A major purpose for this power will be to crush the dragon, that old serpent called the devil, and all his hordes of hell.

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19

This is where Man actually failed in the garden – to exercise dominion over the devil. The Man Child is born to do just that. This can be seen in the predecessors of the Man Child; For the Lord Jesus it was to ‘do good and cast out devils’ – Acts 10:38. For the apostles it was power over unclean spirits, to cast them out Matthew 10:1. And for Moses, the ultimate goal for the signs performed in Egypt was to judge the gods of Egypt – See Ex 4:23; 12:12.

I believe with all my heart that God is unleashing His Power in this day like never before. Something supernatural is about to break forth upon the remnant of God’s people. The question is, will we be sensitive enough to see it and embrace it? Or are we going to be like the Jews who, long after the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus, did not even know that their Messiah had come?

And to those of us who believe, are we willing to bear the ‘birth pangs’ required for the birthing of this move of God?
